The main principles of the Northern
Amenity Forum are as set out below:
1. To keep our members informed of legislative changes with regard
to pesticides application.
2. To act as a forum for discussion/debate as to what is considered
"best practice" in pesticides application.
3. To exchange ideas and working methods in relation to highways
herbicide application.
4. To exchange ideas and working methods in relation to other
aspects of street cleansing.
5. To represent our ideas and views on the Amenity Forum.
6. To encourage all our members, who use an in-house
workforce/contractor, to follow "best practice" at all times, when
applying pesticides.
7. To make certain that all external contractors, that are used,
follow "best practice" at all times.
8. To make every effort to try and ensure that glyphosate does not
follow the triazines and diuron down the road to oblivion.
